ABOUT
THE ACTIVITIES

This part of the training is devoted to self-reflection in order to work on your own unconscious attitudes, reactions, stereotypes, and categories that affect behaviour, believes and understanding. Creating an inclusive and safe space for youngsters begins with self-work of educators to become self-aware. Understanding of the ways in which our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence our interactions with youngsters we work with is core to be aware of our own emotional demeanor and conduct, as well as how they affect the youngsters and how youngsters’ behavior affects them. For these reasons, we make available the following activities that enable to develop a critical attitude and to face racist, sexist, homophobic etc. unconscious ideas. The self-reflection exercises allow us to transform unconscious and implicit believes in conscious and explicit ideas, being able to actively change our frame and, as consequence, the intervention with youngsters.
